Caravanning & campingOUTBACK QUEENSLAND

So, you’ve brought your ‘home’ with you on this road trip and Cobbold Gorge is on your Bucket List. Welcome to Cobbold Village.

Whether you’re towing your dream 26’ caravan, driving a fabulous motorhome or RV, have the Taj Mahal of camper trailers, a hybrid teardrop van, rooftop tent, campervan, family size tent, or you’re rolling out a swag – we have a campsite just for you.

At our peaceful bush setting, you’ll wake to the sound of birds and breeze rustling through the eucalyptus trees, which also provide plenty of natural shade. And with a mix of powered and unpowered sites available depending on the type and size of your rig, plus modern, clean amenities, complete with laundry, camp kitchen as well as gas and wood-fired barbecues and fireplaces, you’re ready to set up house and enjoy. Add in our fabulous MacDonalds Licensed Bar & Bistro plus the fantastic infinity pool with swim up pool bar – and you’re in for some pretty Fancy Camping!

Cobbold Village is located in a drought-prone region of outback Queensland, so lush grass and slab sites aren’t available, however the stunning bush setting of the Gulf Savannah makes your stay special and unique in a different way.

All sites accommodate a maximum of 1 (one) RV, Motorhome or Campervan per site booked, OR 1 (one) vehicle plus 1 (one) Caravan, Camper trailer or Tent per site booked.

Powered sitesFOR CARAVANS & MORE

Set up camp on a powered bush site to suit your rig at Cobbold Village and immerse yourself in the Queensland outback Cobbold experience!

If you’re in a caravan, a really large camper trailer, large motorhome or other big rig – then choose our terraced Powered Drive Through Caravan sites (certainly beats reversing in after a long day, and you don’t even need to unhitch if you don’t want to!), or the New Sherwood Camping Area. These campsite surfaces are predominantly pebble base.

Otherwise, for ‘regular’ size (and equally fabulous) camper trailers, teardrop / hybrid caravans, motorhomes, campervans, rooftop tents and tents – choose our bush Powered Tent / Camper sites. These campsite surfaces are either pebble or dirt.

All powered sites include potable water plus a firepit (you’ll need to BYO firewood, and we sell the obligatory marshmallows at Corbett’s Store).

Your campsite is near clean, modern amenities, plus you have access to the Camp Kitchen, or you can whip up a storm at the free gas barbeques and gas hotplates. If you feel the need for clean – the Camp Laundry is also handy (what a wonderful place to be doing your washing!) And if you’re using your onboard facilities – we have a Dump Point at Cobbold Village.

We also offer Powered sites with ensuite (see further below).

All sites accommodate a maximum of 1 (one) RV, Motorhome or Campervan per site booked, OR 1 (one) vehicle plus 1 (one) Caravan/Camper trailer per site booked.

If you are looking to hire a caravan or camper trailer to come to Cobbold Gorge check out Tropical Trailblazers in Cairns.

Plug in, power up, then relax and enjoy!

Powered siteswith ensuite

If you’d prefer your own ensuite while camping, our Powered Ensuite sites are in the lower section of Cobbold Village, further away from the main campground, Camp Kitchen and Camp Laundry (however it’s only a short walk over the hill to the Infinity Pool, Bar & Bistro plus Reception).

The ensuite comprises shower, toilet and vanity, with hand towel and bathmat provided (BYO towels), and your campsite is spacious with its own power and water plus firepit (remember to BYO firewood), plus there’s a free gas BBQ area located nearby.

These campsite surfaces are pebble base, with some sites suitable for caravans, motorhomes and larger rigs, while other sites are best for camper trailers and campervans  – so please specify your type of rig when booking so we can get you on the correct site.

There’s a second Laundry at the top of the hill for you to access (and it’s not a huge walk).

All sites accommodate a maximum of 1 (one) RV, Motorhome or Campervan per site booked, OR 1 (one) vehicle plus 1 (one) Caravan, Camper trailer or Tent per site booked.

There are a limited number of Powered Ensuite sites available and only some accommodate Caravans and larger set-ups, so remember to book in advance to secure your slice of outback paradise!

Unpowered sitesRELAXED BUSH CAMPING

Relax and enjoy the bush on your unpowered campsite at Cobbold Village. Depending on your rig, we have two options available.

If you’re travelling in a caravan, a really large camper trailer, large motorhome or other big rig, and are fully ‘self-contained’ (have your own water and solar plus maybe bathroom on board) – then choose our Self-Contained Caravan sites. These are large unpowered sites without water and the campsite surface is pebble base.

The Self-Contained Caravan section has its own undercover free gas BBQ area, plus you’re welcome to use the main campsite Amenities block which is a short walk away.

Please note, no generators allowed – however the sites are solar friendly, so in (mostly) sunny Queensland you should be fine, and each site has its own firepit (remember to BYO wood).

For ‘regular’ size camper trailers (not hybrid), campervans and tents – choose our Unpowered Camping Camper / Tent sites.

Your unpowered site is undesignated and positioned in a heavily shaded location to provide a cool, relaxed space (so this area is not suitable for solar panels or caravans, due to the heavy foliage and limited space).

There are several ‘communal’ firepits located throughout the unpowered camp area – great for relaxing at the end of a day exploring and making friends with your fellow campers. Remember to BYO firewood, plus we sell marshmallows at Corbett’s Store!

You’re only a short walk to the wonderful Infinity Pool, fabulous Bistro and bar plus Reception, making them close enough to be part of Cobbold Village life. And of course, you’re near clean, modern amenities, Camp Kitchen, free gas barbeques and gas hotplates and Camp Laundry – everything you need (and didn’t have to bring with you) to make your stay comfortable.

Please note – no generators allowed.

All sites accommodate a maximum of 1 (one) vehicle plus 1 (one) Box Camper trailer or 1 (one) Tent per site (max size 6 man tent) booked.

Enjoy the bush and Queensland’s great outdoors!
