Cobbold Gorge is a family favourite, especially when it comes to school holidays. Our outback location offers a diverse array of adventurous activities and exploration, with something to suit children of all ages and interests. From our gorge tours, which include a boat ride, the glass bridge and guided walk along the escarpment, to simply amazing scenic heli flights and SUP tours, to hiking and biking our tracks and trails, kayaking in the lake, swimming in the pool, star gazing, pizza nights, movie nights, all the footy action – AFL & NRL – on the big screen and more. Our cabins always book out early, so make sure you plan in advance to book one of these, and we have lots of space for caravans, camper trailers, tents and swags with powered and unpowered sites. Pets are welcome at the campgrounds under supervision, but are not permitted in the Cabins or on Cobbold Gorge Tours (see our FAQs for more info on pets). Additional details and all you need to know about school holidays at Cobbold Gorge and Village, is below or see our online schedule of events and activities .
Access to Cobbold Gorge is on guided tour only, and there’s three great ways to experience the beauty of our gorgeous gorge. Book ahead to secure your preferred tour times and day.
MacDonalds Deck serves breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks, or you can self-cater with our camp kitchen and BBQ facilities.
There are lots of free activities you can participate in, while staying at Cobbold Village. This includes making use of our complimentary kayaks to explore the lagoon. You can also bring your own SUP and canoes and use them on the lagoon. Enjoy the Infinity Pool, which has a shallow area for the little ones. Bush walking or mountain biking on our tracks and trails, bird watching and star gazing. Enjoying the views from the Quartz Blow, this is great at sunrise and sunset. Try your hand at fossicking at the nearby Agate Creek (license required).
In the school holidays we have movies running in the air conditioned Conference Room at 11am and 7pm. The movies change each day – check our schedule to see what’s on during your stay. Please note: Children must be supervised by an Adult.
We love the footy – NRL and AFL – and have it on the big screen at the Boomerang Bar and in the Conference Room. This includes all the finals action (of course)!
