This full day itinerary takes you from Cobbold Village on a special expedition into the sandstone escarpments and towering natural structures that abound. Fossick for agates and learn more about the area’s rich European history, on this fully guided and hosted adventure tour.
We cover discovery, bush tucker, geological formations and even talk about flora and fauna, native and introduced. The tropical savannah is a harsh land. It’s pioneering country with plenty of big blue sky and tales of discovery. Traversing up and down conglomerates to visit sandstone structures off-the-beaten track. Smoko and lunch is provided and the day ends with tour of Cobbold Gorge including the circular interpretive guided walk to the escarpment with the chance to look down into the gorge structure as you cross the Glass Bridge then a 45-minute boat cruise through the narrow Gorge.
Cobbold’s Ultimate Outback Adventure is available from 1 June to 28 August on Monday, Wednesday and Friday (excluding June/July School Holidays). Minimum numbers are required for the tour to operate and bookings are essential. Due to the medium-high fitness level required, length of tour and remote areas traversed, there’s a maximum of 12 guests on this tour with minimum age being 12 years. Tour departs Cobbold Village at 9am and returns at 4.30pm. You should be an experienced hiker, wear covered walking shoes, a sun smart hat, sunscreen and bring a water bottle, which can be refilled during the tour. Remember to bring your camera with plenty of memory available.
