Cobbold Gorge Tours and Cobbold Village is family owned and operated. It’s located on a working cattle station in the Etheridge Shire in rural Queensland, a six-hour drive from Cairns or Townsville. The Terry family and Team Cobbold are absolutely committed to providing guests with the ultimate outback adventure – showcasing the beauty of the gorge and surrounding savannah. Due to the climate and access, Cobbold Gorge Tours and Cobbold Village only operate seasonally, between 1 April (or Easter if earlier) and 31 October annually.
Our team live and work closely together, and we like to think of them as being one big family, something we expect all team members to be a part of. Our staff motto is ‘Passion. Purpose. Pride.’ which underpins our approach to our work, our facilities and our guests. Living in a relatively remote area with a small population, open communication and flexibility is essential, and everyone within our team needs to respect the personal space of others, and also to support one another.
There are various accommodation options available for staff at Cobbold Village. If you have your own caravan or mobile home, there’s a dedicated space with plug in power and water access. Employees without their own accommodation will be provided a room where possible. Accommodation is available on a first in best dressed basis and is at the discretion of management. There’s a staff only amenities block, plus communal staff kitchen and lounge area in The Hut. Of course, you’ll be responsible for cleaning your own space and keeping it tidy, along with the shared communal areas.
For Cobbold Gorge to run successfully – we only seek team players with a can-do attitude. Every one of us has an impact on how well we all do, and on our guest experience of Cobbold Gorge, so a positive approach with a smile and working together is vital.
So, are you one of the fabulous Cobbold Gorge team members we’re searching for? Great personality, fantastic customer service, can-do attitude, team player – and excited by an outback stint working in an amazing place? (what an ‘office’ to have, right?)
