Cobbold Gorge Boat Cruise

|
The Terry family welcome you to a truly outstanding and unique property. Apart from the ever changing views, and the 10,000 head of Brahman cattle on Robin Hood Stations’ 1284 square kilometres with a history that dates back to early gold rush days, it also contains a geological wonderland.
From the deep shadows cast by the rugged Newcastle Ranges on the eastern boundary to the sandstone escarpments in the west, one can understand why this station provides you with 'The Ultimate Outback Adventure'.
Located an easy 5½ hour drive west from Cairns, the prime attraction on the property is the breathtaking Cobbold Gorge, along with the Cobbold Village where Simon and Gaye Terry are your hosts. An open bush setting gives a feel of warm hospitality while staying in this idyllic location. A range of accommodation is on offer from comfortable air-conditioned rooms to bush camping.
Cobbold Gorge
Cobbold Gorge is unique, hidden away within the rugged sandstone formations of North Queensland. This gorge is extremely narrow, closing to a mere two meters wide in places, with spectacular 30 meter cliffs on either side. The overall length of the gorge is about six kilometres and consists of a series of water-holes and rock falls, however only the last 500 meters is accessible by flat bottom boat.
Two Cobbold Gorge tours operate daily from the village and range from pure relaxation to soft adventure, or experience the sheer excitement of a helicopter flight over the property. To cruise through this gorge is an awesome and unforgettable experience.
Please Note: All Tours, Accommodation and Camping only operate from Easter to October 31 each year.
